Big ups and much thanks to Kelly Zen-Yie Tsai (we see you on Def Poetry!) for submitting her viral (Over 9,000 hits on youtube!) video addressing the politics of the New Majority.

As Kelly breaks it down Race & Politics are no longer about Black or White (as if it ever really was). There New Voices demanding to be heard at the table, there is a new political Landscape. As progressive we need to recognize this and Seize the Time.

Big Up to man Jeff Chang for popularizing this idea as well:

“But Obama’s candidacy rests on a new electoral landscape.

Obama has reaped the benefits of demographic shifts that Jackson foresaw over two decades ago in plotting his own campaign–the emergence of sizable communities of color and a progressive, multicultural generation of voters. If we, the “New Majority” are the bedrock of this movement then we need a “New” plan to move things forward.
